Hi, I am Allison Barto.

I am a Pennsylvania native. My grandmother gave me my first camera for my 8th birthday. I grew up in Malvern and received my BA in Advertising from Penn State University (and briefly minored in Photography). After graduating I moved to Philadelphia and worked in advertising. My advertising career took me to sales and then into the logistics field. During this time I continued to enjoy photography as a hobby and as my skills improved I began freelancing for The Town Dish, Chester County Hospital, West Chester University, Weber Gallagher, and the West Chester Parks and Recreation Department shooting a variety of events and parties, which led to shooting weddings.

In 2013 I purchased a flower shop in downtown West Chester, which I owned for 5 years and did flowers for approximately 50 weddings a year. Working closely with brides allowed me to become very familiar with wedding timelines, working with venues, and putting Brides/Grooms and their families at ease.

In addition to having a passion for freezing poignant and humorous moments in time, I’m an innovative and agile problem-solver with strong attention to detail. When not creating photographs or selling real estate, I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can work on my goal of becoming a morning person. I’ve been a West Chester resident since 2003 and reside in East Bradford Township with my husband, Brian, our son, Knox, and our two cats, Oogie and Boogie, in a 1700s farmhouse.
